Duke Buckley SR wins Best in Breed at Westminster

Former Common Dog of the month “Big Duke Buckley’s ” dad (Ch Highpoint’s Fifth Wheel Don’t Blink) won Best in Breed at Westminster this week. Unfortunately, he was beaten out by Malachy the Pekinese for Best In Show Honors. Congratulations to the Fifth Wheel – but I’ll take Duke and his Dog Of The Month award any day! Duke Buckley has resurrected the Common Dogs dog of the month award. Dukes tremendous disposition, acknowledgment of his generous size, and ability to give any of the daycare attendants a Mastiff ride around the dog park have put him over the top for the honors. Duke is the proud winner of a day of daycare, and a free bath! Check out the video.

Jen recently gave me a beautiful painting of my youngest German Shepherd Skorch. The painting was done by our own Nicole Roy, full time student and painter, as well as part time daycare attendant. She did the most amazing job. If we get some good feedback maybe we can convince nicole to paint some more of our favorite dogs.

If Ally and Comet, two of our most loyal boarders, could read, we’re sure they would pick up a copy of their master’s new novel, STRANDED. And if they could, they’d probably bite their nails right down to the quick, for it is an edge-of-your seat, spine-tingling thriller. STRANDED is Douglas Wentworth’s debut novel, yet he is no stranger to writing. His first effort, ‘Columbo: Murder By Suicide’, was purchased by the late, great actor, Peter Falk, in conjunction with Studios USA. His second script, ‘Columbo: Now You See Him, Now You Don’t', took top honors in the American Accolades Movie of the Week Screenwriting Competition. Doug recently hosted a Community Fundraiser/Booksigning at The Harvard Coop in Boston, to benefit Children’s Hospital Boston, where he donated 50% of the proceeds to support the hospital’s research and medical care. Now that’s something that Ally and Comet can howl about!

Web cameras are up!

The boarding suite and dog park web cameras are up and running! If you have reserved a King or Presidential Suite for your pets stay, you will be given a user name and password upon check in, and can check in on your pet 24/7. Daycare customers can email or call us to receive the dog park password.
